Who We Are

EnvironMentors at Penn State is a science-based program that aims to help more underrepresented students of color around Pennsylvania into the STEM fields through mentorship and support. According to the National Science Foundations, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans constitute no more than 7 percent of the STEM field workforce. Therefore, our main goal here at Penn State EnvironMentors is to increase the percentage of people of color in the STEM fields by ensuring  that the High School students of colors who participate in our program get exposure and awareness to STEM-related degrees and career options, and be ready to excel once they enter the workforce in the future.
